it was intentional because he wants a free throw even if it misses

    Reggie Miller anyone?

  • Jennifer Cedano 3 years ago

Honestly who can make a shot like that and kick your legs out. Not even an
alvin ailey ballerina posterboy can do that. i think jason kidd was
surprised and knew he stuck his foot out and got lucky. i was excited when
i saw this but the replay made it look wack. i thought stackhouse had
smacked his arm but stackhouse missed him completely and the shot was
already in the air when stack house landed into his foot.

Both players on that last play have been to the NBA finals with the
    Mavericks. Pretty ironic!

ik people fail to notice that he always does that, even when he’s open to 3s

  • tjcyanks5 3 years ago

According to the rule, that would result in an offensive foul and the shot
doesn’t count either. So no, the Knicks wouldn’t have won because of that.

that is an offensive foul, like jeff said they made that a point of
emphasis that kicking your leg out like that is either a no call or
    offensive foul,

always kicks his legs when he shoots

  • Jennifer Cedano 3 years ago

to be honest the nets almost beat the knicks, again. too bad i dont live in
    brooklyn anymore

  • water is wet 3 years ago

i think if he only kicked out his right leg and not his left he would have
been called for the offensive foul

  • letgo1120 3 years ago

It is a foul. It’s same as tripping someone.

  • Kaho House 3 years ago

0:34 What he really wants to say is “That is either a no call or an
offensive foul…. but.. its the NBA”

  • scorpas 3 years ago

let me guess, ur favorite NBA player was Bruce Bowen?

  • HOW THE FUCK IS THAT AN OFFENSE FOUL………..no wonder why jeff van gundy
is an announcer now and not a coach, he doesn’t even know the rules smh

  • BlazeAndWillieG 3 years ago

  • funckypickle77 3 years ago

  • tjcyanks5 3 years ago

“Also, officials will emphasize the “Reggie Miller rule” for a shooter who
kicks his legs out during jump-shot attempts to create contact and draw
fouls. Officials plan to call offensive fouls on shooters who blatantly
kick out their legs to initiate contact.” Just google “NBA Reggie Miller
rule” and you’ll get plenty of results.

  • InsaneMC55 3 years ago

That was an offensive foul. Kidd fell by himself

  • Jason T 3 years ago

That’s the point… its an old TRICK, like you just said. The NBA said they
wouldnt allow it anymore and were going to watch very closely for it this
year. That’s why Van Gundy said “its a point of emphasis” this year because
the refs were told to watch that extremely closely this year and call them
offensive fouls. It’s almost like flopping, doing something to fool the
refs into thinking you were actually fouled for real. Van Gundy is right.
He can still shut up tho lol
